Halfway done with leisure week

Posted by geekazoid at 02:04 AM on December 22, 2005.

I've already finished my entire first season of House and even saw a couple episodes a second time. I was supposed to wait till a few friends could come over and watch my DVDs with me, but my EQ is just too low.

House is the only medical thingy (whether movie or TV series) I've seen that makes internal medicine look as glamorous as surgery.

It's a lot of fun, especially kung may mga parts na naiintindihan ko talaga 'yung nangyayari, medically speaking.

A much needed vacation

Posted by geekazoid at 10:41 PM on December 18, 2005.

A lot happened this year and having the first real Christmas vacation I've had in some time (because I'm not going to Worlds) is a wonderful way to end it. Just to make things clear, I'm not sarcastic.

I've already planned out my vacation.  I'm dividing it into two parts: leisure period (pre-Christmas) and work period (post-Christmas).

I'm currently on a House marathon.   House rocks.

Three-day weekend

Posted by geekazoid at 01:27 AM on November 28, 2005.

Rome was okay.

It was The Life of David Gale that blew me away. Saw it for the first time. Fuck.

Anyway, I've been checking out curricula of graduate courses in UP and abroad. Why do all the socio courses sound so interesting and most of the psych courses unappealing?

I love three-day weekends. I get two days of rest instead of just one.

High on the smell of glossy paper

Posted by geekazoid at 11:31 PM on November 22, 2005.

Finally squeezed in a stopover at Mind Movers today.

I am now a proud owner of my very own copy of Campbell (and Reece's Biology, 6th Ed., for the uninitiated). Kanina ko pang hinihimas-himas.

Yes, it's not very practical to buy my own Campbell. Tapos na ako ng Bio 11, I won't be using it for 102, and I'm not even sure if I'm taking NMAT (another bout of indecision). But I still really, really wanted my own colored copy. So I went out and bought one.

My rationalization is this: Wala na akong mahiraman ng colored na Campbell. And it really helps if it's colored. When you cram, you just look at the figures (which are often color-coded).

At this point, I could even say something like "Campbell is love," but that's just retarded.

The end of a UP Christmas tradition

Posted by geekazoid at 10:31 PM on November 21, 2005.

I reacted violently when I first heard about it. I just couldn't believe that it was possible. But it's true.

Walang Lantern Parade this year. Austerity measures and shit. Damn.

I've never seen a Lantern Parade before, and I told myself that this was gonna be the year. Fate and the economy had other plans.
